First showdown of 2015 – vs Prahran Assumption

If you follow local footy, and these two teams are in the same division then this is the contest everyone looks forward to seeing twice a year. Being dubbed the “Hawthorn/Geelong” modern rivalry of the VAFA, these games fail to disappoint no matter where either side is placed on the ladder.

The Bulleen Temp/Prahran Assumption rivalry of recent years have produced some absolute cracker games of football, none then the most recent game late last year when the Bullants had control over the majority game against Prahran to lead by 7 goals early in the last quarter only for the Two Blues to kick the final six goals of the game giving the Bullants an almighty scare only to hold on by 3 points.

This week’s contest is set to be another intriguing one with the Bullants coming off their first win of the season last week defeating ladder leader St Mary’s and Prahran losing in a thriller to Old Mentonians by a single point leaving them winless thus far.  Prahran will be hosting at home this week for the first time this year and will be looking to break their losing streak against the Bullants at home. Whereas our boys will be looking to back up their fantastic win against St Mary’s and knock off their fierce rivals this week away from home.

Get down to Toorak Park this Saturday from 11:40am to catch the Reserves game followed by the big Senior clash at 2pm.
