Draft President’s Address

Happy New Year

I hope you all survived the festive season and enjoyed the time that this provides for families to get together, to relax and to recharge the batteries for the coming year. 2019 is going to be an exciting year for everyone involved at The Bullants, from the players and coaching staff to the committee and supporters. We have a new Senior Coach in Jason Reynolds, we will be fielding an Under 19 side for the first time since 2011, and we will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of our 1979 Triple Premiership success. All of this is creating a real buzz of excitement around the club.

After a very successful four-week period before Christmas, pre-season training resumes for all teams at Ted Ajani on Monday 21st January from 6.00pm. While the weather at this time of year is not what you would normally consider ‘footy weather’, the hard work that is being put in now is going to stand us in good stead for the season ahead.

The following practice matches have been confirmed for the Seniors, Reserves and Under 19s.

– Saturday 16th March v Yea Football Netball Club – The Tigers
– Saturday 23rd March v Fairpark Football Club – The Lions

The venues for both matches are still to be finalised however they will be away games. We are also trying to organise a third match for Saturday 2nd March.

Details regarding the practice match schedule for the Senior Women’s team will be available shortly.

Upcoming Events

Friday 29th March – Season Launch and Jumper Presentation, 7.00pm Ajani Community Hall

This year we are having a more formal launch to the season with a meal and formal jumper presentations. Players partners and other supporters are more than welcome to join us as we look to launch our assault on the 2019 season. Tickets will be available soon.

Saturday 11th May – Past Players Day

We are currently finalising a guest speaker for this year’s Past Players Day however the date is locked in. Put this date in your diary to come down to the club to catch up with old friends and support the Seniors and Reserves as they take on the Brunswick Football Club who are coached by Bullants 2012 Premiership Coach Anthony Palmer. Details regarding speaker and costs etc will be available shortly.

1979 Triple Premiership 40th Anniversary

1979 was the sixth season we fielded a side and it turned out to be a monumentally successful one for the Club. Our Seniors, Reserves and Under 19s all tasted premiership success giving us a rare hat-trick of flags for the year. As this is the 40th Anniversary of that success we are planning a major event to mark the occasion. Watch out for a formal announcement around the end of January.
