Bullants fall by 7 points to West Brunswick

A wasteful Bullant side in front of goal has cost them the 4 points and a chance to consolidate themselves in the top four after a 7 point defeat at the hands of West Brunswick .

Wets Brunswick have now gone a game clear of the Bullants from this top four battle with the Bullants now having a crucial game next week against St Leos to stay in touch with the top four.

Kicking with the wind in the opening term, West Brunswick utilized their home ground advantage moving the ball seamlessly across the ground and really restricting the Bullants to any scoring opportunities. With the Bullants only managing two points against the wind in the quarter, the Magpies slotted 3 first quarter goals to have a handy lead in what was seeming to be a tight contest in blistery conditions.

The Bullants seemed a different side in the second quarter dominating the play all over the ground. Having the wind in the quarter the Bullants really needed to capitalise with the breeze but wasteful chances in front of goal cost them the lead at half time after kicking 2.8 for the quarter to the Magpies 3.3 and extending the lead by 1 point.

A rev up at half time saw the Bullants tighten the grip on West Brunswick in the third only allowing them to score 3 points with the breeze to the Bullants 1.1 reducing the margin to under 3 goals going into the last quarter with the breeze.

Unfortunately a injury depleted Bullants side could not take advantage with the breeze in the final term again wasting some opportunities in front of goal and to take the lead in the game. The Magpies managed to hold on by 7 points in the end and jump a game clear over the Bullants.
