2014 End of Year President’s Message

The football season has come to an end and the planning has commenced for next season. I would like to take this opportunity in thanking our coaching staff for their tireless efforts, the playing group for their commitment and our medical staff for their professionalism. Our band of volunteers have made the season operate smoothly and have constantly reinforced the Bullant spirit with their dedication to the club. A huge thank you to our loyal band of supporters who continue to encourage and support our player group and the club every week.

Our committee has worked extremely hard and will continue to make our club the best that it can be and their efforts should be applauded. I encourage anyone that would like to be involved in some capacity to contact me as we will formally allocate positions at our Annual General meeting.

Season 2014 has been tough in many respects but there was plenty to celebrate throughout the year. Our 40 Year anniversary ball was a roaring success and I would like to again express my thanks to the organising committee led by Dean Tulloch and Mario Monaco. We had players (Paul Florance and Jack Cowell) represent our club wearing the Big V for VAFA representative games. We welcomed to the club many new players and look forward to extending the player group next season. We have put in place steps to ensure that we will field an Under18/19 team in season 2015. The Lady Ants v Marcellin Sheagles charity football match was a huge success raising money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and we thank Michelle Vassos for organising the events. The Bullant 100 Business luncheon was a fantastic day and David Keast and Paul Thompson are the driving force behind this event. Our other functions including our annual Family Day were well attended and ensures that Bullants past and present are connected socially and the club thanks Michael Pace, Scott Boyd, Paul Robertson and Dean Tulloch for organising these this season.

There are a few very important people that I would like to single out and they are Santino Paolucci and Pep Palumbo for their preparation of our Thursday night meals and the running of our canteen and Paul Gallo our Bar Manager for ensuring that our social events are run smoothly and responsibly.

We are extremely thankful to all our sponsors for their support and this season added the Shoppingtown Hotel as a major sponsor of the Bullants and we look forward to a long standing relationship with all of our sponsors.

The playing part of the season may have finished but there is much to do to prepare for the season ahead and I encourage you to contact me or a member of our committee with your thoughts and ideas as we all strive to make our club better.

Go Bullants
