Round 1 Report:

After a tough start to the season the ladies were all raring to have another crack at putting a score on the board.

With only 16 players it was always going to be tough, but the girls left everything out there and the effort was sky high.

With over 10 tackles for Charlotte “ginge” McKinnon, Bonnie Funnell and Cat Hoh through the middle of the ground the rest of the team followed their lead. Every player putting on intense tackle pressure kept us in the game all day.

Being behind at half time plenty of changes were made. Sarah Csaszar was thrown into the deep end in the ruck and competed extremely hard winning her first ever hit out. Sophie Maz moving down to the back line for the first time saw a level head help us move the ball forward with much more confidence.

Whilst the score board showed a 10 goal loss it does not reflect how close the game really was. The girls worked hard all day and are quickly learning how to work together as a team. As a coach all I can ask my girls to do is aim to improve, and the difference from round one to round two makes me extremely confident for the rest of the season.
