The Bulleen Templestowe Amateur Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Greg Chivers to the role of Senior Coach for 2017.
Greg is a well known Bullant held in high esteem in the football community. A triple best and fairest winner and dual premiership player (including Premiership Captain), Greg epitomises hard work and passion for the game. Greg also played a season in the testing Northern Territory with Nightcliffe – where he won their best and fairest award. Greg is pumped for 2017.
“There is nothing better than being a Bullant”, Chivers said. “It gives me a sense of pride, a sense of community. I’ve been able to create special bonds and lifelong friends for which I am eternally grateful”.
Asked about what our members and supporters can expect, Chivers was straight to the point.
“Our brand of football will be the traditional Bullant true grit and determination. I like ‘flair and dare’, but also composure, using the ball well with football smarts.
Our mantra on the training track at the moment is push yourself, push each other and have a crack and the lads are certainly doing that. There’s a good feel, there’s a good vibe and we’re looking forward to playing ball this year.
I’d also like to extend a warm welcome to Harry Urwin and the Lady Bullants. I think it’s absolutely fantastic and on behalf of the playing group we look forward to seeing you on the training track and getting to know you all.
To wrap up – there is no other place in the world I want to be right now. I want to be on the TAJ with the whistle in my hand helping and encouraging these young men on their craft that is football. And I promise to you my fellow Bullants – I will give it my all.”
Greg’s support team is currently going through a selection process and will be confirmed over the coming weeks. Please join us in congratulating Greg on his appointment and wishing him and the team all the very best for 2017.
