Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,
It gives me the utmost pleasure to welcome everyone back to without doubt one of Melbourne’s premier sporting events, the ‘Bulleen Templestowe Ladyants V Marcellin Shegales’ charity Football Match. Over the past two years, a fierce and fiery rivalry has been building between these two Manningham powerhouses. With the Ladyants taking out last years edition with a thrilling 11 win, there is no question the Shegales will be out for redemption.

The match will take place on Sunday the 18th of May at Ted Ajani Reserve off Thompsons Road with the first bounced scheduled for 1pm. Similar to previous years, there will be festivities happening from 12 o’clock onwards, so come down with all your friends and family to enjoy a fantastic day.

The day itself is a great opportunity for both clubs to celebrate all that is great about local and family orientated football. However, the match not only gives the lovely ladies an opportunity to strut their unbelievable skills, but it also brings both clubs together to raise money for some of Australia’s most outstanding charities.

Over the last two years, we have been able to raise an incredible amount of money for both the ‘Butterfly Foundation’ and ‘The White Ribbon Foundation’ respectively. This year we again hope to be able to hand over a sizeable cheque to another one of Australia’s unbelievable organisations, ‘The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation’. (OCRF)

The OCRF does immense work in the development and implementation of early detection programs for ovarian cancer whilst at the same time improving the morality rate and management for ovarian cancer survivors.
There are many ways in which an individual or business can show their support for the girls and inturn this fantastic organisation. Alongside a gold coin donation to grant entry into the ground, you can sponsor the girls individually, donate food, drinks, memorabilia or anything else that can be placed within our super successful silent auction, the options are endless and any form of donation will be greatly appreciated.

If you have any inquiries about playing, donating, spectating or anything else, please feel free to get in contact with Michelle Vassos.

We hope to see everybody there for a fun filled day!

After losing to the Sheagals last year the pressure was on not to go down 0 – 2. That pressure was felt early with a goal less first term by both sides although the LadyAnts had all the play kicking 0.5. The Sheagals came out of the blocks in the second term with the first goal of the game and had all the play but the Ladyants showed they weren’t going away with a late goal to be a couple of points down at the main break. The start of the third was very even until the Sheagals star player Bresali got off the chain to kick two vital goals.

This looked like it was going to give them a match winning lead but to the girl’s credit we got one back just before the break thanks to a wonderful goal by Kyristal and an equally great shepherd from the skipper Mish. We had all the play in the last quarter as the Sheagals slowed down and all the play was in our half. We kicked the last two goals of the game, thanks Laura Float, and kept the footy down our end thanks to BOG KC Jones sitting off half forward kicking the footy straight back in!!!

It was a great win to tie up this annual event 1-1and it was hugely successful raising $6110 for the White Ribbon Foundation.

Score – Ladyants 5.6.36 def Sheagals 4.2.26
